International Chamber member Marsh Commercial were previously Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers and have had an office in Inverness since 1999. We were acquired by the Marsh & McLennan Companies in May 2018 and have been trading as Marsh Commercial since May 2020 when we rebranded.
Marsh Commercial has 31 staff based in Inverness and over 50 in our Highland & Islands Region which include offices in Kirkwall and Elgin.
I’m Paul Chiffers and I joined the business in February 2019 as Branch Director for Inverness. I started in the insurance industry in 2008 as a trainee commercial broker and worked my way up to account executive with my previous employers before being offered my first management role with Marsh Commercial in 2019.
Through this member of the week campaign, we would like to promote our insurance broking (both commercial and personal lines) services as well as risk management and employee benefits. Also, promote our local service and community focus, as well as our in-house claims service which is so important to us.
We shared our plans with Inverness Chamber over the next 12 months which is growth. We achieved very good growth during 2020 under very difficult circumstances and managed to attract a lot of new clients. We are in the process of recruiting 7 new staff members (3 have already started) to help support and service our growing client bank.
At Marsh Commercial we are pleased to have attained IIC (Investor in Customer) IIC Silver, outstanding rating.
ICC asked us what we value most about our Inverness Chamber which is the chance to work with other local businesses who are equally as community focussed as we are.
